The whole year round.
WHAT IS THE « IDEAL » LENGTH OF A CRUISE?
At least 7 days/7 nights, better if 14 days/14 nights. You will then have sufficient time to linger and visit the whole archipelago, according to swell and wind conditions.
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE TENDER? THE OUTBOARD ENGINE?
The size of our semi-rigid dinghy is 3,40 meters. It is stored on the decck while sailing. The outboard engine has 15 HP. Water skiing is not possible with this type of material.
CAN YOU TAKE CARE OF OUR FLIGHTS? WHAT IF WE WISH TO CONTINUE ON LAND, IN HOTELS?
We have negotiated prices with the major hotels and « pensions » (bed and breakfast). We have the best possible airfares on national airlines.
WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK?
There are very few boats to charter in Los Roques. You probably will be able to charter a boat at the last minute, but may be not the right model nor at your exact dates. Book at least 6 months, if not 9 months ahead of time. Same thing for your international flights, national flights, hotels. This lead time is even insufficient for an August holiday.
WHY A HOSTESS/COOK?
Your hostess/cook will take care of the provisioning, will cook your 3 meals, according to your preferences and will propose local specialties. Lazing days guaranteed ! Please note that our hostess is not a baby-sitter (we can provide one on request, for the total length of your cruise).
SHOULD WE TIP THE CREW?
If you have liked the service of your crew, please feel free to show how much you have appreciated it. They, in turn, will certainly appreciate your generosity !
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?
A light raincoat, a sweater (nights can get cooler), SDCards and batteries for your cameras, sunscreen, sunglasses, swimming suit and water shoes, so that you can walk on beaches.
SHOULD I BRING BED SHEETS AND TOWELS?
Our boats are like hotel rooms. Your berths are made up. We provide towels
IS THERE A BARBECUE GRILL ON BOARD?
Yes, there is a gaz barbecue.
ARE THERE ELECTRIC PLUGS FOR MY WEBCAM, LAPTOP? IS THERE A CD PLAYER? WHAT ABOUT MY IPOD ? IS THERE A DVD PLAYER?
All our boats have a 12V plug, similar to the cigar lighter in the cars. Just bring your 12 V cable corresponding to your camera, laptop, iPOD, etc. For your comfort, we also have converters from 12V ==> 220V and ==> 110 V. There is a CD and DVD player onboard.
WHAT ABOUT CELL PHONES ?
They normally work if you activated the roaming function with your operador but we also have a phone onboard, which you can use to be called or to call your families and friends.
WHAT ABOUT INTERNET ?
There is a free WIFI internet connection onboard.
WHAT ABOUT FISHING ?
Excellent fishing opportunities onboard, bring your equipment if you have one !
WHAT ABOUT SCUBA DIVING ?
Our boats are not equipped with scuba diving gear and we cannot take the responsibility for such practice. On each island, there is at least 1 diving club. We will be happy to give you their contact.Private diving option available, with monitor and compressor/tanks on board
WHAT ABOUT SURFING AND KITE SURFING ?
There are few surfing spots. You will have to bring your own surf board. Your skipper will show you the nice spots for surfing or for kite surfing.
